Gin rummy: to 100
How to play gin rummy
- Goal: make melds: sets of 3 or 4 cards of the same rank (8-8-8) or runs of 3 or more in the same suit (4-5-6 of hearts). Cards with a green bar are already in a meld.
- Your turn: tap the stock (face down) or the top card of the discard pile to draw. Then tap a card to pick it and tap it again, or drag it to the pile, to discard.
- Deadwood is your unmatched cards. Ace = 1, number cards = their number, J Q K = 10. Your count is shown under your hand.
- When your deadwood is 10 or less, the Knock button appears. With no deadwood at all, you can go gin for a bonus.
- After each hand you see exactly how it was scored. The first player to 100 points wins the game.

Questions
Is this gin rummy game free?
Yes. There is nothing to buy, no sign-up and no ads. Your game and stats are saved in your browser.
How good is the computer?
Easy makes simple choices and sometimes misses a better discard. Medium plays a solid, steady game. Hard also watches which cards you pick up and avoids feeding you, and sometimes waits for gin.
Which rules does this game use?
The standard rules described by Pagat.com and Bicycle: knock with 10 or less, gin bonus 20, undercut bonus 10, game to 100, a 100-point game bonus and a 20-point box bonus for every hand won. See scoring for details and common house rules.
What is the daily deal?
Every day there is one daily deal: the same cards, in the same order, for every player. Play one hand against the computer and share your result.
Can I play Oklahoma, Hollywood or straight gin?
Yes. Oklahoma gin, Hollywood gin and straight gin each have their own page with the game set up for that variant.
Can I use it in class?
Yes. Press Projector mode for big cards on a screen. Teachers can find lesson ideas and a deadwood counting quiz on the teacher page.
